It’s supposed to be my bread and butter, but the more I build, the more disillusioned with the process I become.

It brings a lot of job security for many people in the field, from laborers to craftsmen, specialized skills, young professionals, and even the local community, which benefits from the influx of people coming in and seeking primary needs.
I do believe in starting small and keeping it small. Let’s build something great from a controllable condition to create a balanced future for everyone and everything.”aw

However, the process is not exactly clean and bright; some folks are uprooted from their homes or livelihoods. They receive compensation, but at what cost? They are not equipped to deal with this kind of situation.

The surrounding area is affected for at least two years during the construction process, with dust, sound, and vibration becoming a daily reality. We’re not even talking about the possibility of accidents occurring from time to time.

And no, there is no sound Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) implementation by the government for this sector. The manpower is also quite resistant to safety equipment. It’s becoming a dance between life and death, a never-ending waltz that hopefully will pause on the life part when the construction finishes and the circus packs its bags and moves to another job.

It makes me wonder, what is the right way to build? Make it big and keep it never ended greed to make it even bigger or do we just keep it small and self sufficient? We can’t expect everyone to follow our footsteps.
But I do believe in starting small keeping it small and making a big impact to society. Let’s build something great from a controllable condition to create a balanced future for everyone and everything
