Portraiture series 1

This is my very first film photo that I ever take, there is always be an interest in my heart to take portrait of other human being from other walk of life. I didn’t dare to ask him to move around and face the camera, I didn’t ever sure if I metered it right. I didn’t even know if I even properly load the film. In the end I’m quite happy with the result

When I got the gut to starting to ask folks to see me and stare down the lenses, I’m enforcing myself to get it right, to meter properly and to start conversation between me and the persons who stand right in front of me. It’s nerve-racking and it’s for sure satisfying

But most of the time, I’d like to take the quick glance, the unprepared, the fleeting moments. this is not my proudest result, but I’m very happy with how the old man resting nicely over the top of the storage unit, gazing over the distance and ignoring me who were busy fiddling with my camera

For the next several rolls, I prefer to use this method, It seems that I didn’t bothered them and my consciences were clear of the responsibility for producing good result. it’s a good method to explore new media.
But I’m no satisfied, I felt that I’m not unlocking the whole process. Taking a shortcut to create a mediocre result, but I’m content. I’m happy with those result, but I’m longing for more

But this is the process, pretty much like anything else in the world. We must keep on moving. this will be a series of long series of post of my quest of portrait photography. We will talk about story, growth, heart broken, glory and many facet of human life
